Welcome to the Tomorrow:Today Foundation.

PO Box 281, Benalla, Victoria 3672, Australia.

Tomorrow:Today Foundation is a philanthropic organisation, formed and run by local people to provide funds for local community projects. It is Benalla district’s Community Foundation, working to bring about positive change.

For tomorrow

Giving to Tomorrow:Today Foundation’s Public Fund is an investment in Benalla district’s long-term future: creating a permanent, independent and flexible source of local funding.

Donations or gifts to the Public Fund become the capital. Funds are invested to grow, with an emphasis on security. The aim is to build a substantial Public Fund to benefit Benalla district, with the income returned to the community as grants for a broad range of local charitable projects.

and for today

As well as receiving donations and bequests from generous citizens, Tomorrow:Today Foundation works with other Foundations and Trusts, businesses, government bodies and non-government organisations. Through this work the Foundation is able to attract funding, often from outside the district, which can flow through immediately to support its charitable purposes.
Since 2003 grants have been awarded annually to eligible projects in the district.

Tomorrow:Today Foundation also works on a number of special projects that have the capacity to strengthen the community.

Why Benalla?

The Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR) was established in 2000 to help declining rural communities take control of their future. Benalla citizens were quick to see the importance of setting up a community organisation that focused on tackling chronic issues. Following community meetings, a feasibility study into the concept of a rural community foundation for Benalla and district was undertaken with funding from FRRR.

Tomorrow:Today Foundation was officially launched in November 2002. It has established a reputation as an innovative, well run organisation that is a leading example of a rural Community Foundation.
Tomorrow:Today consists of a charitable company, managed by a Board of Directors, plus a Public Fund. The company is the trustee of the Public Fund. The Public Fund has been granted Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status by the Australian Tax Office which means donations may be tax deductible.
