Our Projects
In addition to giving Small Grants for local community projects, Tomorrow:Today is involved with a number of special projects of our own that help to develop a stronger, more resilient and prosperous rural community.
These projects cover educational, social and environmental issues and positively impact the whole community.
Education Benalla Program
The Education Benalla Program is a large-scale community initiative that works with Benalla and district families, all schools in Benalla, public sector agencies including local government, small and large community groups and businesses. We are now in the third year of a planned 10 year implementation period. The desired outcome is that by 2030 the education and training completion rates for Benalla 17-24 year olds will equal or exceed the Victorian State average.
‘Background’ at left provides information about the research, development and evaluation of the Program as well as numerous articles that can be downloaded. We hope that our work is used to inform and assist other programs around the country and simply request that any use of our material be acknowledged.
‘Children’ gives all the information about our early years projects such as our free Little Giggles playgroups.
The ‘Teenagers’ section at left provides details of activities that have been run to improve student wellbeing, including our Connect9 mentor program and Hands On Learning; as well as projects to improve rates of transition to tertiary education. This includes activities of use to parents and community organisations.
Indigenous Garden
The Indigenous Garden next to Lake Benalla is one of our current projects. It’s being created by the Benalla district community, with the approval of indigenous elders, for the benefit of all.
